DID YOU KNOW THAT...

  • Only 25% of how long a person lives is actually determined by their genes?  If you want to be healthy, ask someone that is healthy.  If you want to be wealthy, ask someone who is successful with money.  So logically, if you want to know what it takes to live to be a 100 years old and be happy, then look at the pockets of centenarians throughout the world. These pockets of centenarians are called Blue Zones.  Researchers have studied five Blue Zones.  Common threads in lifestyles exist among the five areas studied.  What can you learn?  Plenty! Learn what you may need to change in your lifestyle to live a longer and happier life.  Read Thrive: Finding Happiness the Blue Zones Way.   Hint:  Family & social connections is one common thread.
  • Did you know that the antioxidant value in foods and supplements can actually be measured?  This is an ORAC unit (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) developed by scientists at the National Institute of Health. It is believed that foods higher in ORAC value may fight age-related diseases and degeneration.  ORACvalues.com

  • Did you know there may be a reason why it is so hard for people with extreme obesity to stay away from junk food?  Research suggests that our brains may respond to junk food the same way we respond to drugs.  If so, that's some pretty strong implications!  Read about the study here, Junk Food as Addictive as Heroin and Smoking.

  • Did you know laughter can boost the immune system, ease stress, help reduce pain and protect your heart?   Laughter is the Best Medicine

DID YOU KNOW ABOUT EMU OIL?

HERE'S SOME Natural & Easy BEAUTY TIPS I'VE USED: SCARRING -- My daughter was in an auto accident many years ago that resulted in a nasty wound on her face. I used EMU OIL topically after the initial injury.  This strange sounding yet remarkable oil aided in the reduction of her scarring.

I would highly recommend you have this oil on hand should your children or you suffer a wound that may result in scarring.  Please go to Uniquely EMU to find out more about these great products.

Surgical tape cut into a thin strip carefully placed over a facial wrinkle overnight helps smooth out the appearance of the wrinkle in the morning. The smooth appearance is only temporary.
  • Try Biotin for skin, hair, and nails. I thought I was going bald once!  Not so!.....read my story on the next page in Healthy Benefits.
  • Less Facial Wrinkles - sleep on your back. For a change put some pillows under your feet and slightly elevate your feet while sleeping.
  • Reduce appearance of facial pores and increase the tone of your face - take some egg white and cover your face.  Let it dry until you feel your face tugging.  Rinse with warm water.
    You'll love it!
  • Soften and moisturize dry brittle hair - mix mayonnaise and olive oil. Work this through your hair and let it set in 10 or 15 minutes.  Obviously, wash this out with shampoo.  You'll love the feel of your hair.  My daughter used this on a severe bleaching of her hair.  It saved her hair!

You Don't Need to Buy Expensive Skin Care Products to Get Results...

I personally use daily on my face a great product from Roots-Herbal which is 100% Aloe Gel without additives or harsh chemicals.  I get many compliments on the wrinkle-free effects this aloe produces.  You can wear this alone or under your make-up.  I have been using this for a number of years and highly recommend it.  I am glad to be able to offer this to you today.

DID YOU KNOW THAT DEET PRODUCTS SHOULD NOT BE USED ON INFANTS & NOT COMBINED WITH SUNSCREENS...?

Do Not Use Deet-Based Products on Infants ...

The CDC estimates that 30% of Americans use deet-based insect repellent.  23% of children are exposed to Deet.  Deet is an active ingredient in many well-known insect repellents.  Deet is also registered as a pesticide with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  Go to the PAN Pesticide Database to read the toxicity of this chemical.  Dr. Abou-Donia has studied chemicals and their impact on the public for 30 years and says never use Deet on infants or combine with other insecticides, sunscreens, or over-the-counter antihistamines.  Read about the neurological implications of using Deet.  You can read what Dr. Abou-Donia has to say in this Duke University study.

Use all natural products for bug repellent and sunscreen  such as Dr. Mercola BUG Off Spray and Dr. Mercola's Natural Sunscreen.  If these are out-of-stock, I have found something you else you might like to try.  BUGABLE (DEET-free) bracelets!  Read the reviews of Amazon!  You'll also find some other great Deet-free products there.
